TAP 65: A Unique Beer Tasting Experience in Baton Rouge

The food here is ok. You will not find authentic Indian food. It is more like an American version of it. However, the staff will make sure you will thoroughly enjoy your visit. This is the restaurant where I have received the best customer service ever. They will take the time to explain the menu to you, and they will make sure you choose the option that you will enjoy the most according to your preferences and needs. I will not be coming back, though. The food is nothing special, and it looks like they are still trying to figure out how to run this place.

Awesome concept for a beer tasting bar. When you arrive, you put your credit card down and you get a different card that gives you access to all the tabs. You can do a full pint or you could just have a taste or an ounce or two. Anything in between that you want!. This family has two locations this location and the other one closer to LSU campus. They also have some fantastic bar bites, but did not have any this time around. Put it on your list to check out.

You don’t have to love Indian food to love this. Forget everything you know about other Indian food before you come here. This is in the same style but so much better! Rick, the Indian oysters you had for Father’s Day need to be on the menu year round. I would come once a week to eat those.

Such a cool vibe! We went for restaurant week and the service and food were both phenomenal! Plus they had great happy hour specials on drinks. Hope was an awesome waitress! Super attentive and helpful. Everyone who worked there was really friendly. We can't wait to go back! The Desi Tropics mocktail was out of this world.

The food is beyond delicious. Great options of cocktails! They can accommodate large groups. We were a group of 10 ladies, the service was great, food came in time and was delicious. They have vegetarian options as well.

I have been to Tap 65 many times with friends and family. There are many good things to be said about it: the food is delicious and inventive, the drinks are creative and on a constant rotation so you always get fresh takes based on season or events, the prices are very reasonable (entrees in the $10s), and the bar atmosphere is modern and beautiful. What makes me always question on whether to return is the service. Every time things go wrong: it’s the wrong food or things get forgotten, refills on water are not offered, everything takes forever to come out. One time, there was water leaking from a pipe on the ceiling, onto our table where we had water and food. We asked to be seated elsewhere. The server was able to accommodate us, then we looked on as he proceeded to seat another party at the same table with the dripping water. Why can’t the bartender set me up with a beer card for the drinks on tap? Why do I see servers blatantly on their phones when they can’t set up tables for reservations ahead of time? At the most recent visit, plates and silverware were not provided until we asked for them when the appetizers were already on the table. Each roll of utensils had a different pair inside. I want to love this place but I am seeing the same servers again and again getting away with less than the bare minimum. At this point, my expectations are just kind of set when I do end up going for the good food or drinks.

This place was recommended by my air bnb host. The food was really good and the mocktails were delicious! However, our waiter really didn't check on my gf and I that often. We needed several things and it took her some time to come out. Would definitely be back but just because it's a slower time doesn't mean you take forever to check on the guest dining there. Definitely would recommend the chicken korma as it was delicious and the Naan bread but wish they added garlic and herbs to it. Definitely not an authentic Indian restaurant, but it's good for what it is.

My first time to Tap65 and wow, I will not wait to come back! We pre-ordered for their Desi Crawfish today and the flavor blew my mind! The perfect mix of spice and savory. The tap wall was a ton of fun where you pay by the ounce for the beer you pour. There is also a water tap on the wall so water can be refilled at any time. Please don't let Desi crawfish be a one time thing!!
